Creative Engineering with Arduino and Cardboard 

Wednesdays 5:00-5:50 9/9-11/18 (no class 10/14) – Tuition is $120 on its own, add Clickteam Game Design Level 1 for $40.

Bring cardboard creations to life with real electronics! Returning makers will pair modular Grove Arduino kits with cardboard construction to design and code custom, interactive physical mechanisms. Working in visual mBlock on dedicated workstations, students will build from core sensors and actuators up to their own unique physical prototypes. Stays open for our 6:00 PM Clickteam Game Design add-on!

ClickTeam Game Design Level 1: Ages 10+   Wednesdays 6:00-6:50   9/16-10/7   

Tuition: $55, or pair with the Arduino class at 5:00 and this class is $40

In this 4-week starter block, students dive into 2D game design using Clickteam Fusion’s visual event editor, mastering movement logic, collision detection, and scoring mechanics as they build classic, playable games like Pong from the ground up on dedicated computers. Perfect as a standalone mini-course or a high-energy add-on following our 5:00 PM Arduino block, makers get hands-on experience in a supportive, small-group environment. At LabSpace, we believe that when we learn new skills, we gain the opportunity to share our passions with others—so this session will be team-taught by our adult Lead Instructor alongside our experienced youth mentor!

ClickTeam Game Design  Level 2: Wednesdays 6:00-6:50 10/21-11/18 (5 sessions)

Tuition: $65 or $45 if you are also enrolled in the Arduino Class

Take your 2D games to the next level! In this 5-week follow-up block, students expand on their Level 1 foundations by transforming simple arcade mechanics into full multi-stage games. Makers will learn to add title and game-over screens, build multi-level progression, and introduce fun arcade elements like bouncing hazards, collectible power-ups, and custom sound effects. Designed as a friendly, step-by-step next step for returning students working on dedicated stations. (Prerequisite: Level 1 Clickteam Fusion or previous Clickteam experience at LabSpace).
