Let’s program your first video game! Ages 9+ We’ll learn the basics of making a video game by creating our own maze style game.
We’ve found that video game design works great as an online class! Students can share their screens with the teacher and teachers can share with students. Because classes are kept small (usually between 4-7 students) there is plenty of time to ask questions and get to know each other. This will be a fun way to earn your Junior Coding for Good: Badge 2.
This class will meet via Zoom. An invitation will be sent out a couple of days before class starts. You do not have to be a Girl Scout to take this class. Badge 2 can be taken before Badge 1.
MultiMedia Fusion 2.5 will be our game design program. The free trial version is very good. Here is a download link: https://www.clickteam.com/clickteam-fusion-2-5. They are also offering the full version for free through the end of August at which point that license will expire.
Please have your software downloaded before class. We’re happy to help if you need it, just let us know.
