10:00-10:50 Magnetic Sculptures
Experiement with iron filings to see magnetic fields. Then we’ll use those magnetic fields to create a moving sculpture powered by magnets. Will you make a rocket that zooms through space, a butterfuly that flits through a garden, or some other amazing creation?
Ages 5-7 should have a hands-on adult helper. Older can work on their own, but of course, adults are welcome to stay if they like.
All materials provided. You’ll get to take your sculpture home. Tuition: $8.00 per maker.
11:10-12:00 Lego Robotics: Spinning Birds
Ready to bring your Lego creation to life? We’ll use the Lego WeDo sets to create spinning birds and then program them to spin. Experiment with the belts and pulley to change out your birds spin.
Just a heads up that the robots will have to stay at LabSpace, but you’ll have the opportunity to get lots of pictures and videos.
