We’re always so thankful for our mentors!  Student Mentors help make LabSpace possible.  If your child is interested in becoming a mentor we have lots of opportunities coming up.

Students who have been through several LabSpace classes can make great mentors for beginners. Sharing what you know is a wonderful gift to our current students and it will help you grow.  Mentors must be 12 years and older and new mentors require the approval of Miss Annette- email me: Annette@LabSpaceRobotics.com   Feel free to call me if you have questions (573) 645-0800

June 22-25 Design, Build, Battle!/Game Design 12:30-4:15

Mentors in this camp should enjoy sumobots and lots of exciting commotion!  It will be loud.  Your job is to assist students with their robots and cheer them on.  This class can be very high energy, which means emotions may run high.  Mentors in this camp should probably be 13+ and have the ability to step back and observe the big picture in a high-energy room.

The second half of the afternoon will be game design.  It will be considerably less chaotic:)  Mentors in this should have Click Team Fusion experience. Mentors interested in presenting a portion of the camp under supervision should contact Miss Annette so we can decide what might be appropriate.

4-H Robotics Workshops – Saturday June 20 and 27 9:45-12:15

Mentors should plan to attend both sessions. This will be a beginning Lego Mindstorms robotics class for 4-H members who would like to try out the 4-H Robotics Project.  Mentors for this should have taken at least 2 Robotics classes with LabSpace, or have similar experience.  They anticipate the age range being 8-11, but there might be some older students as well.  The workshop ends at 12 on both days and mentors will help reset the classroom in preparation for Mondays classes.

Tech Camp July 6-9 12:45-4:30

Mentors should have experience with Mindstorms Robotics and/or 3D printing and design with TinkerCAD. Mentors will assist students with projects and help as needed.  Mentors interested in presenting a portion of the camp under supervision should contact Miss Annette so we can decide what might be appropriate.

Doll House Camp June 13-16 8:45-12:30

Mentors in this camp should love crafting!  It would be helpful to have some experience in TinkerCAD so you can help troubleshoot as students design furnishings for this houses.  You’ll assist students on project that need more than one hand and think outside the box to help them come up with new ideas for how to create amazing furninshings for their houses. We anticipate this been a very messy camp, as often happens when we’re being creative, so we’ll all be pitching in along the way to keep supplies organized.  We’ll spend time after students leave resetting for the next day.

Brownie and Daisy Girl Scout Camp July 20-22 8:45-12:30

This camp is Girl Scouts grades 1-3.  They will be working on their Robotics, Coding and Engineering Badges. We’d love to have older Girl Scouts join us to mentor!  No prior experience is necessary. Priority will be given to girl mentors in this workshop.
