Are you ready to share what you’ve learned with others?
LabSpace is looking for enthusiastic middle and high school students to join our summer camp mentor team! While LEGO Mindstorms or Spike building experience is a definite plus, we’re really looking for students who are passionate about STEM and eager to share their enthusiasm with younger learners. Mentors will assist instructors with a variety of camp activities, including engineering challenges, art projects related to technology, and of course, robotics. Prior to camp, you’ll help build robot challenge sets, cut out cardboard for projects, and explore Lego Mindstorms robot sets and building techniques.
This volunteer opportunity is a great way to develop leadership skills and gain practical experience in STEM education. Mentors will need to attend training sessions, actively participate in camp activities, and maintain a positive, helpful attitude. These opportunities require the approval of LabSpace instructors. I encourage you to talk with instructors and ask questions to see if this opportunity is a good fit for you.
There will be free training sessions that you should plan to attend. The current schedule is below. I’ll be adding camp dates as we go, so you might have to check back for that.
Parents, if you are interested in being a LabSpace volunteer, we’d love to talk with you. Adult volunteers can sometimes earn credit for classes for their children to help reduce tuition.
