Badge 1: Board Game Design – Monday, Feb 12 6:15-7:00 Central
Ready to take on the challenge of designing your own board game? You’ll get to choose your theme, decide on the rules and create and test your game.
This workshop will meet the requirements for the Daisy Mechanical Engineering Badge 1. Materials needed: heavy paper, or recycled cardboard (a frozen pizza box would be perfect), a pencil, markers, colored pencils or crayons, and any other decorations you like. Small toys, rocks, erasers, etc for options to move around the game board or to collect. For instance, my game has a gardening theme, so I’m going to use pumpkin seeds as my object to collect. You’ll also want some extra paper and scissors for creating your characters that will make around the game.
We’ll be making a spinner for our game. For that, you’ll need either a brad, screw, or thumbtack, a paperclip that will spin around the brad, screw or thumbtack and a heavy piece of cardboard to attach it all to.

Badge 2- Roller Coaster Design – Monday, Feb 19 6:15-7:00 Central
Let’s build a roller coaster! It’s a little tricky, but you’ll learn to think like an engineer! Come up with a design for your roller coaster and then test it to be sure your car will make it to the bottom without getting stuck or falling off! Then, we’ll make improvements!
Badge 3- Car Design Monday, Feb 26 6:15-7:00 Central
Design your own car! We’ll look at lots of cool vehicles and then design and build our own cards out of recycled materials!
This workshop complete the requirements for the Daisy Mechanical Engineering Badge 3. Badge not included. You do not have to be a Daisy to attend this workshop.
