We’re sorry, this camp has been cancelled.
This is an interactive camp where students will work together as citizen scientists to gather data at different times of the day about clouds and local trees.
Cloud observations and tree height observations provide useful information to help NASA to better understand the different types of clouds and the effects they have on our Earth’s climate as well as assess the accuracy of satellite images. Additionally, tree observations help scientists and researchers understand how trees help us balance Earth’s carbon budget. This course will allow participants to become citizen scientists as they observe, record and report visible cloud types, the amount of sky covered by clouds, sky and surface conditions and the opacity of clouds as well as tree height.
This camp will be led by Donna Stallings who is a retired math professor and loves to introduce students to all things STEM.
