Upcoming STEM Club Grades 3-6 Year 2

This class is for those who have been in STEM Club Year 1 and are comfortable with basic programming using a drag and drop language. In this session, we’ll be experimenting with Micro:Bits and adding motors. Our big project will be creating a robot zoo to exhibit on April 12 during the Robot Parade Event. We’ll use the MicroBit to power robotic animals that are built from recyclables and everyday materials. Students will add motors and sensors using the MicroBit.  The animal respond to its enviornment in some way.  For instance, a sound sensor could cause a cat’s tail to move back and forth when the sound level is high.   In addition, students will have the opportunity to build and program a robot for the robot parade using the Lego Mindstorms robots.

Please save Sat, April 12 for the Robot Parade Day.  The parade and Robot Zoo will start at 1:00, but, everyone will need to meet at LabSpace between 10:00 and 12:00 Saturday morning to test their creations.  LabSpace will close at 12 so everyone can have lunch. There will be no testing between 12:00-12:45.
